En het zegt iets anders dan wat de meeste &#8220;educatief speelgoed&#8221;-lijstjes je vertellen.<\/p>\n\n  <h2>Waarom &#8220;leerzaam&#8221; speelgoed vaak niet werkt<\/h2>\n  <p>De meeste ouders van een schoolkind zoeken speelgoed dat iets bijbrengt. Rekenen, lezen, logisch denken. Snapbaar \u2014 je kind zit net op school, je wilt dat het bijblijft, misschien zelfs een voorsprong pakt.<\/p>\n  <p>Het probleem: veel speelgoed dat zichzelf &#8220;educatief&#8221; noemt, is vooral makkelijk. Het legt uit hoe je moet spelen, geeft meteen het juiste antwoord, en is binnen tien minuten doorzien. Daarna ligt het in de kast.<\/p>\n  <div class=\"blog-highlight\">Concentratie ontstaat niet doordat iets leerzaam is. Concentratie ontstaat doordat iets net moeilijk genoeg blijft \u2014 genoeg weerstand biedt om erin te blijven hangen, zonder dat het frustrerend wordt.<\/div>\n  <p>Dat is precies wat een kind van 4 tot 8 nodig heeft: niet meer uitleg, maar iets waar het zelf grip op moet krijgen.<\/p>\n\n  <h2>Wat w\u00e9l werkt bij speelgoed voor een schoolkind<\/h2>\n  <ul>\n    <li><strong>Bouwsets met opbouwende moeilijkheid.<\/strong> Een set die in \u00e9\u00e9n keer af is, is na de eerste keer klaar. Sets waarbij je kind zelf varianten kan bedenken blijven langer interessant, omdat het kind zelf de moeilijkheidsgraad bepaalt.<\/li>\n    <li><strong>Strategiespellen in plaats van kennisspellen.<\/strong> Een schoolkind van 6 of 7 kan al vooruitdenken. Spellen waarbij je een paar stappen vooruit moet plannen trainen concentratie beter dan een quizspel met losse feitjes.<\/li>\n    <li><strong>Iets waar een fout in mag zitten.<\/strong> Speelgoed dat meteen laat zien of iets goed of fout is, houdt een kind kort bezig. Een kind leert niet van speelgoed omdat het label &#8220;leerzaam&#8221; zegt \u2014 het leert omdat het er zelf mee worstelt.<\/p>\n  <p>Dit verklaart ook waarom hetzelfde stuk speelgoed van school-leeftijd tot school-leeftijd anders wordt gebruikt. Een bouwset die op je kind van 5 nog simpel oogt, wordt op 7-jarige leeftijd ineens een project van een uur \u2014 omdat het kind zelf een hogere lat legt.<\/p>\n\n  <h2>Wat dit betekent voor wat je in huis haalt<\/h2>\n  <p>Je hoeft niet elke paar maanden nieuw &#8220;leerzaam&#8221; speelgoed te kopen in de hoop dat het beter aanslaat dan het vorige.
