Er heeft precies \u00e9\u00e9n kind mee gespeeld, een paar maanden lang. Nu staat het in de weg. Weggeven voelt zonde, houden ook. Dat is het moment waarop de meeste ouders nadenken over duurzaam speelgoed. Meestal komt het antwoord neer op materiaal: koop hout in plaats van plastic. Die uitstoot is er al voordat je kind er \u00e9\u00e9n keer mee heeft gespeeld. Wat daarna telt, is simpel: hoeveel speeluren haalt dat speelgoed eruit voordat het stopt?<\/p>\n  <p>Een houten keukentje dat drie maanden wordt gebruikt en daarna vijf jaar op zolder staat, heeft een slechte verhouding. Alle uitstoot van het maken, gedeeld door een handjevol speeluren. Datzelfde keukentje dat door tien kinderen na elkaar wordt gebruikt, heeft precies dezelfde uitstoot bij het maken, maar tien keer zoveel spelen om die uitstoot mee te verdelen.<\/p>\n  <div class=\"blog-highlight\">We kijken naar wat speelgoed is. We zouden moeten kijken naar hoe vaak het speelt.<\/div>\n  <h2>Waarom kinderspeelgoed zo snel stilvalt<\/h2>\n  <p>Speelgoed voor jonge kinderen heeft een ingebouwd probleem: kinderen groeien er in maanden doorheen, niet in jaren. Een sorteerspel dat perfect past bij een kind van twee is een half jaar later te makkelijk. Een loopfiets wordt een step wordt een echte fiets.<\/p>\n  <p>Dat betekent dat het meeste speelgoed niet stukgaat. Het wordt gewoon te jong. Het ligt er nog prima bij, maar niemand speelt er meer mee. En juist dat, speelgoed dat werkt maar stilligt, is waar CO2 verloren gaat. Niet in de vuilnisbak, maar op de plank.<\/p>\n  <h2>Wat je zelf kunt doen<\/h2>\n  <ul>\n    <li><strong>Kijk verder dan nu:<\/strong> beoordeel bij een aankoop of iets ook over een jaar nog boeit. Open speelgoed zoals blokken gaat langer mee dan iets met \u00e9\u00e9n functie.<\/li>\n    <li><strong>Geef door zodra het te jong is:<\/strong> niet pas bij de grote opruiming. Hoe eerder het weer speelt, hoe beter de verhouding.<\/li>\n    <li><strong>Koop minder, laat het meer draaien:<\/strong> twee dingen die veel spelen doen meer dan tien dingen die stilliggen.<\/li>\n  <\/ul>\n  <p>Dat laatste voelt tegennatuurlijk. We zijn gewend te denken dat meer speelgoed meer spelen betekent. Dezelfde loopfiets die bij \u00e9\u00e9n gezin een half jaar meegaat, kan bij vijf gezinnen achter elkaar meegaan. De uitstoot van het maken blijft gelijk, maar wordt over veel meer spelen verdeeld.<\/p>\n  <p>Dat is ook de gedachte achter ReplayClub: speelgoed dat komt en gaat in het tempo van je kind, en daarna weer verder speelt bij een ander. Niet omdat delen nu eenmaal groener klinkt, maar omdat het de enige manier is om die verhouding tussen uitstoot en speeluren echt te verbeteren.<\/p>\n  <p>Het mooie is dat je er als ouder niets voor hoeft in te leveren. Je kind speelt met iets dat past bij waar het nu zit, en als het te jong wordt gaat het weg zonder dat er iets op zolder belandt.<\/p>\n  <h2>Duurzaam speelgoed is vooral speelgoed dat blijft spelen<\/h2>\n  <p>De vraag &#8220;hout of plastic&#8221; is niet onbelangrijk, maar hij is kleiner dan hij lijkt. De grotere vraag is of het speelgoed dat je in huis haalt genoeg gaat spelen om zijn eigen footprint waard te zijn.<\/p>\n  <p>Een kast vol goedbedoeld hout dat stilligt is minder duurzaam dan een handvol dingen die blijven draaien. Duurzaam speelgoed gaat uiteindelijk niet over wat je koopt.
