Twee jaar stond het in de woonkamer, nu staat het op zolder met een pannetje erin dat niemand meer optilt. Bij circulair speelgoed denken de meeste ouders aan waar iets van gemaakt is. Hout of plastic, gecertificeerd of niet, gerecycled of nieuw. Dat is meetbaar, dus daar gaat het gesprek over.<\/p>\n  <p>Maar de impact van een stuk speelgoed wordt niet bepaald door het materiaal alleen. Hij wordt bepaald door het materiaal gedeeld door het aantal uren dat er echt mee gespeeld is. Een houten loopwagen die acht maanden dienst doet en daarna zes jaar op zolder staat, heeft een slechte deling.<\/p>\n  <p>Reken het eens ruw uit. Een houten keukentje dat door \u00e9\u00e9n kind twee jaar gebruikt wordt, tegenover hetzelfde keukentje dat vijf kinderen achter elkaar bedient. Zelfde boom, zelfde transport, zelfde verf. Vijf keer zoveel spel.<\/p>\n  <div class=\"blog-highlight\">Een houten trein die zes jaar op zolder staat is niet duurzamer dan een plastic trein die door vier kinderen is versleept. Alleen stiller.<\/div>\n\n  <h2>Wat er tussen twee kinderen in moet gebeuren<\/h2>\n  <p>Circulair klinkt vanzelfsprekend: het gaat gewoon door naar het volgende kind. In de praktijk zit daar behoorlijk wat werk tussen, en precies dat werk is de reden dat de meeste speelgoedbergen blijven staan.<\/p>\n  <ul>\n    <li><strong>Ophalen op het juiste moment:<\/strong> als een kind eruit groeit, niet drie jaar later.<\/li>\n    <li><strong>Compleet maken:<\/strong> het laatste blokje terugvinden, het missende kaartje vervangen.<\/li>\n    <li><strong>Schoonmaken:<\/strong> tot het niveau waarop een andere ouder het zonder aarzeling binnenlaat.<\/li>\n    <li><strong>Repareren in plaats van afschrijven:<\/strong> \u00e9\u00e9n los wiel is geen einde.<\/li>\n    <li><strong>Opnieuw matchen:<\/strong> met een kind dat er nu precies aan toe is.<\/li>\n    <li><strong>Onderdelen bewaren:<\/strong> van speelgoed dat echt op is, zodat het volgende exemplaar langer meegaat.<\/li>\n  <\/ul>\n  <p>Zes stappen. Bij \u00e9\u00e9n gezin thuis worden dat er meestal nul of \u00e9\u00e9n.<\/p>\n\n  <h2>Waarom circulair speelgoed thuis vastloopt<\/h2>\n  <p>Niet uit onwil. Het venster waarin speelgoed nog interessant is voor een ander kind is korter dan we denken, en het valt bijna altijd samen met de drukste periode van je gezinsleven.<\/p>\n  <p>Je verkoopt de loopwagen niet als je kind er net uit is, want dan is het chaos. Je bewaart hem voor eventueel nummer twee, ook als nummer twee er nog niet is. Tegen de tijd dat je opruimt, is het plastic verkleurd en zijn er twee dieren kwijt. Dan gaat het niet naar een volgend kind maar naar de kringloop, of erger.<\/p>\n  <p>Ondertussen groeit de stapel. Niet omdat je te veel koopt, maar omdat er niets weggaat. Het probleem is geen gebrek aan goede bedoelingen. Het is timing.<\/p>\n\n  <h2>Speelgoed dat de cyclus goed doorstaat<\/h2>\n  <p>Sommig speelgoed leent zich er beter voor dan ander. Wat stevig is, weinig kwetsbare onderdelen heeft en over meerdere leeftijden bruikbaar blijft, kan makkelijk vier of vijf kinderen mee.
