De vloer ligt vol papier, je kind zit tussen zes nieuwe dingen en speelt met de doos. In januari is er nog \u00e9\u00e9n over waar het echt mee speelt. Je zag het aankomen en toch ging het weer zo. Iets wat je wilt, iets wat je nodig hebt, iets om aan te trekken, iets om te lezen. Prima regels.<\/p><p>Alleen ben jij niet de enige die geeft. Opa en oma geven. De tantes geven. Op de opvang zit iets in de schoen, op school ook, en het vriendinnetje van de cr\u00e8che komt met een pakje aan. Van alles wat er in december binnenkomt bepaal jij misschien een derde.<\/p><p>Daarom loopt dat advies vast. Het richt zich op het enige stukje dat je toch al onder controle had.<\/p><div class=\"blog-highlight\">Een kind heeft gemiddeld 92 stuks speelgoed en gebruikt een kwart daarvan niet meer. Dat is geen decemberprobleem. December maakt het alleen zichtbaar.<\/div><h2>De vraag is niet hoeveel, maar wat er daarna gebeurt<\/h2><p>We kiezen cadeaus voor het moment van uitpakken. Dat moment duurt veertig seconden. Daarna staat het ding er nog jaren, ook als je kind er in maart al doorheen is.<\/p><p>Dat is het rare aan speelgoed: het is het enige cadeau dat je geeft \u00e9n dat de ontvanger daarna moet opbergen. Je geeft niet alleen een pakje, je geeft ook een kastplank.<\/p><p>Een cadeau dat blijft is dus niet per se een duurder cadeau. Het is er een dat over een half jaar nog past bij waar je kind dan zit.<\/p><h2>Wat je wel kunt sturen<\/h2><ul><li><strong>Verdeel de vraag:<\/strong> geef familie iets concreets door in plaats van &#8220;verras maar&#8221;. Zonder richting koopt iedereen hetzelfde soort ding.<\/li><li><strong>Kies \u00e9\u00e9n groot boven vijf kleine:<\/strong> vijf kleine pakjes voelen als meer, maar het zijn vijf dingen die een plek moeten krijgen.<\/li><li><strong>Kijk naar de fase, niet naar de leeftijd op de doos:<\/strong> een kind dat net begint te bouwen heeft iets anders nodig dan een kind dat al een half jaar bouwt, ook al zijn ze allebei drie.<\/li><li><strong>Ruim eerst op, dan pas geven:<\/strong> wat er in november al niet meer wordt aangeraakt, wordt het in januari ook niet.<\/li><li><strong>Geef iets dat niet af is:<\/strong> blokken, tegels, een baan. Speelgoed zonder eindpunt gaat langer mee dan speelgoed dat \u00e9\u00e9n ding doet.<\/li><\/ul><p>Merk op dat geen van deze punten gaat over minder kopen. En dat is ook niet erg, zolang de andere vijf niet de rest van het jaar in de weg staan. Het helpt als speelgoed weer weg kan zodra de lol eraf is, in plaats van dat het jouw probleem wordt.
